To provide our core functionality—fast, offline file sharing—and support the operation of our App, we request certain permissions on your device. We only access data necessary for the App to function:

• Storage & Media Files (Photos, Videos, Audio, Documents): We require access to your device's storage and media files to allow you to select, send, and receive files via the App. Your files are transferred directly between devices and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
• Location Data (Fine/Coarse Location): Although we do not track your physical location, Android requires location permissions to discover and connect to nearby devices using Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth. This data is exclusively used to establish a localized, peer-to-peer connection for file transfer.
• Nearby Devices (Android 13+): Required to scan for and connect to active Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections nearby without needing location tracking.
• Camera: We may request camera access to scan QR codes for quickly establishing connections between devices. Images captured are not saved or transmitted to us.
• Contacts: We may request access to your contacts to help you easily identify and share files with known individuals. Your contact list is kept locally on your device and is not uploaded to any server.

2. Third-Party Services and Advertising

Our App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the App. AdMob may use device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID, cookies, and similar technologies, to provide personalized and non-personalized ads. You can manage your ad personalization settings through your Google account or device settings.

3. Data Retention and Security

Because FlashDrop functions as a peer-to-peer file transfer utility, we do not have servers that collect or store your personal files, location history, or contact lists. The data processed by the App stays on your device and is transmitted directly to the recipient's device via a secure local network.

However, third-party advertising partners (like Google AdMob) may collect and retain analytical and advertising data as described in their respective privacy policies.

4. Children's Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our accessible records.
